MORE ON THE ARTISTS
Pochoman (Cuba)

Ever since he was a child, Pocho liked to dance, act and sing and believes that he inherited the music in his blood. In 1998 he started working with a group called Onda Expansiva and this was when the name Pochoman became his artistic name. Onda expansiva won an audition out of 500 other hip hop groups to perform at the International Hip Hop Festival of Cuba.

Pochoman was offered the chance to sing in America, Brazil and Europe however due to his country's system of government he was unable to go. He has sung on radio and shared the stage with various other famous cuban artists such as Haila, Polo Montanez, Los Van Van, Carlos Manuel among others. He claims to be the only hip hop artist that has had the honour of singing in front of Fidel Castro.

Bruno LT (Rio)

Versatility may have a wider mean when we talk about Bruno LT's activities with brazilian music and audio techniques. His full dedication led him to work with great names of the Brazilian Popular Music. Extremely sensible to musicality, the DJ and Producer applies the large experience acquired on his own projects involving new talents of the Brazilian alternative music. After having worked for a few years at a great studio in Rio, he had the chance to produce and release some of his tracks and remixes. Soon, LT became the resident DJ of the main electronic parties, making the first experiments of the pioneer Carioca_s Live P.A's. Projects such as the Dub Mentals band incorporated his authenticity in which he develops a set with keyboards, pick-ups, samplers and effects..

DJ Aru (Tokyo)

ARU's blend of drum & bass is just untouchable. He is a recognized, young and distinguished DJ in Tokyo D'n'B scene. Not to mention he has Hip-Hop back ground from his teen age era in Kyoto where he grew up and where he started his DJing career. When he hit his age of 18, he moved to Tokyo and started rocking the Tokyo crowds. After the fateful encounter with dj KENTARO in Tokyo, DJ ARU has toured with dj KENTARO to Jamaica and Europe. DJ ARU rocked the Manchester and New Castle crowds, all the experiences he received from foreign tours have reflected today's music selection of DJ ARU's. From all these international trips he had, what touched ARU's heart the most was D'n'B.

In 2006, he released the Mix Album called "ENTER A TOKYO DRUM & BASS WAR". It's really soulful and story telling mix, and it has influenced all the music shop buyers and Tokyo dance scene. It was a top hit of the month. DJ ARU has also opened up for DMC Japan regionals, played at SONAR MUSIC FESTIVAL TOKYO, METAMORPHOSE FESTIVAL, BARRICADE and DRUM & BASS SESSIONS in JAPAN. His DJ performance areas have been expanding today.

His original style is ever-changing, aggressive and spirit of no constraint. Once you jump into his dance floor, you must feel DJ ARU's amorous beats and stories that he is creating. DJ ARU, he is blowing the dance floor away.

Luke Snarl

Luke Snarl is one half of deejay duo Sub Bass Snarl who have been at  it since 1991. Being one half means he only plays the right channel of all the songs when he plays solo. OK just kidding. He plays half the tempo. No, but seriously, he isn't really sure what he is going to play yet but it will definitely draw on his 20+ years of buying music, be influenced by following underground electronic genres and enjoying making people dance mixed with his current obsession with Dubstep, Hip Hop, Dub and stuff. And a fair bit of it will be unreleased and/or Australian tracks. YeahÖ OhÖ and he used to run sunday night interesting music club Frigid in  sydney for a decade from 1996Ö and he mixes bands and thatÖ like some of the elefant traks ones - the herd, etcÖ yeahÖ oh and still does a radioshow on 2SER 107.3 called  Paradigm Shift every monday night 8:30-10pm.

Prince Valium (The Herd)

Whether it be hip-hop sans frontierres, communiqués from planet Jamaica or beats broken by hand, Prince V delights in presenting the odd, the obscure and the criminally ignored to dancefloors and loungerooms alike. With deep crates of global hiphop, dub and reggae, spiritual jazz and hindi film music and a sideline in exotica, obsurica and electronica his sets tend to the eclectic and unorthodox. He is a long-time collaborator with the Elefant Traks crew (The Herd) and is also one quarter of the team that presented Frigid, a Sydney Sunday night melange of sounds that went for 10 years!

Sven Simulacrum

Born in South Asia / Made in Australia. This Sydney based mix n mash slasher selecta brings chutney rebel baile bass bhangra bashment bump n grime. DIY diasporic culture clash!

VJ Siadatz (formerly SDzeit)

Melbourne based Dom Evans is VJ Siadatz and has been actively generating digital light for the past two years at Kent Street's 'Plug n Play' and at all of the bigger UberLingua events in Melbourne during that time. He also worked with Barcelona based cultural conjuerer 'Filastine' when he toured Australia in '06, performing video work at both the Melbourne and Sydney show. His work combines his illitrative art, sampled imagery, self made animations and other elements, often flowing between dark abstraction, urban psychogeographics and scientific surrealism. His work with Uber Lingua is sensitive to the cultural intersections that are being exlored and the collisions of ancient worlds with the modern hi tech... the results are stunning. Dom is also currently in his final year studying animation and electronic music at RMIT.

VJ Erbansprawl (Foreign Dub)

To quote Erbansprawl's myspace page: "Visual artist, Jungle junkie Over the last three years erbansprawl has been collaborating with likeminded souls forming Foreign Dub', sydney based dj's and promoters putting on parties such as DNBBQ. Jack Shit

Jack Shit is a ratbag radio-head and raconteur who reinvents the real with every show and set - refusing repetition and gleefully experimenting with expectations - keeping even the indolent on tipsy toes. He Jacks Off Saturday arvos on FBi and goads crowds in every dive Sydney has to offer throughout the work-king weak with haughty refusals to play The Presets (or any other overly-fashionable saturated craps). Give him some love - he needs it!

Stu Buchanan

Hailing originally from Scotland, Stuart Buchanan is the host of the international music show, FAT PLANET on Sydney's FBi Radio and editor of the popular international music blog, fatplanet.com.au . bP (Melb)

With cultural diversity his primary passion, Australian DJ/producer 'bP' (Brendan Palmer) has been representing the musically 'not so represented' for nearing two decades. He has wandered the world gathering sounds and has performed in places as diverse as Barcelona, Berlin, Dublin, London, Tijuana, Mexico city and Helsinki to name a few...  In 2004 he launched Uber Lingua and his sonic activity has grown exponentially playing literally hundreds of gigs and promoting culturally charged music in most capital cities of Australia. bP's sets traverse language, culture, genre, history and social scenes; deliberately defiant of mainstream music fashions, he presents an intersection of underground and outernational sounds that capture his imagination. Roots to Futurism, East to West, Minimal to Maximal are all sonic stops on bP's translingual express. Brendan additionally works as a producer at the legendary Melbourne radio station Triple R during the day and presents the weekly 'Dialectic' radio program on the web and  Tasmania's Edge Radio.
