SINPARE
( pronounced: sin-par-ay )

Sinpare was born in 1999, when two budding actors met at the Kenya National Theater.  "No mountain exits without a name, and it was not long when we discovered that we had something in common something that was so synonymous with the kids from the ghetto: single-parented.  Thus the name Sinpare," explains Peats.

Sinpare have performed at events such as Carnivore and at the Kenya National Theatre, and recorded their first album at Hill Media Studios. Sinpare are currently based in Nairobi, running a studio in the ghetto' Lavinton Amboseli Road known as 'Tuff Audio'.  Their Australian tour of 2006 is to be their first appearance outside their African homeland.

and representing all things local...
Diafrix

Diafrix music is a rare blend, new Australian urban music with an African bent, with raps that can flow from English to French to Swahili and back again. Drawing their influence from the likes of Marvin Gaye, Timbaland and Stevie Wonder with a healthy mix of tough hip-hop. MCs Azmarino and Momo draw lyrically upon their experiences growing up in Africa (Eritrea & The Comoros Islands) and immigrating to Australia (Footscray) as children. Beats are provided by producer Ptero_Stylus, who has worked with Jake Savona, Sista She, Elf Transporter, IllZilla and more, Cuts are provided by Wax Vandal (Equills).

This is hardcore, soulful, dance-floor music with a positive message and more than a little ESL up in the place. Combine two parts Hip-Hop with one part Soul add a twist of Dancehall and you are well on the way. This is one live show you do not want to miss.

Diafrix have been performing extensively in Melbourne for the past three years. Highlights include: Falls Festival 2005, St Kilda Festival 2005, Finalist in the 2005 Noise SOYA music awards, JJJ Next Crop Act 2005 and Supports include: Stereo MCs, Tippa Ire, Tzu, Bomba, The Herd and more.

& Combat Wombat

Combat Wombat are an outspoken troupe of hip hop punks mainly located in Melbourne. Theyíve just released their second album "Unsound System". Armed with only samplers, mics and turntables, powered by solar energy and an uncompromising belief in Truth over Spin, these desert nomads are the real deal, creating an album that reflects the frontline activism they have become famous for. Unsound System is a bullet to the dark heart of the Australian psyche.
Sonically rugged and funky, Monkey Marc's beats draw their influence from 70s reggae, Public Enemy's Bomb Squad and the golden era hip hop of the early 1990s. The album moves from A-grade head thunkiní hip hop to seriously heavy dub reggae, all laced with relevant and politically charged vocals and samples, with ARIA award winning DJ Wasabi providing cuts.

alongside DJs

Hot Property (Costa Rica)

Originally from Costa Rica, South America, Hot Property began dabbling with sound when performing at the 'Penguin Chill' of Teriakyanarkysaki, a legendary hard techno club. Using a combination of pre-programmed musical pieces and live-mixed performance, he'd play elaborate and epic live electronic music sets to spun out alternative types... recovering from pound

The set Hot Property will do at GLOBAL TRASH is his self titled 'Matador' set... a 100% Latin Spanglish Reggaeton mix. Reggaeton is the latest ghetto sound that is sweeping across the United States. We wont give too much away, but it will be as he puts it "...more than just a DJ mix..."

bP

As a DJ, bP focuses on cutting edge music in "...as many languages as possible..." His recent sonic wanderings come as a result of his trips to Beijing and Montreal in mid-late 05. From these he's gathered a solid selection of killer Asian tracks, much modern Franco-phone music... bP's fairly obsessed with very modern evolutions in sound... expect to hear an evolution of the tangent he started taking at the turn of the century.

sakamoiz is a post-Swiss pseudo-Mexican Tasmania-based rogue, and his nomadic lifestyle benefits one of the planet's most sonically eclectic and linguistically diverse music collections.  Host of the 8 to 10pm Saturday night slot 'Dialect-ic' on Hobart's Edge Radio, Sakamoiz'z selections are spiced with Latin, Arabic, African and Aboriginal grooves have been the flavour of his sets featuring everything from coin-swinging to glitch-reggae.
