Uber lingua are specialists in celebrating language thru party  promotion, a crew active in Sydney, Melbourne and other parts of Australia who have been promoting events in NSW since 2005. DJs, MCs,  singers, dancers, video artists and musicians all play a part. Harbour  cruises, weekly club nights, massive spaces at Sydney Festival, Opera  House productions, and touring international artists have all been on the cards.

Since 2007, Uber lingua's 3 room event concept has been a strong focus. Up until now these have happened at the Abercrombie Hotel on Broadway, and have allowed for affordable yet hugely diverse line ups to be enjoyed by hundreds of punters each time. A loyal following has emerged.

Finding a new home across the road, Uber Lingua's 3 room party concept lives on at the UTS Glasshouse and Loft with an equally culturally supercharged selection of artists.

Over this time many cultures, sonic tangents have been explored thru specific themed parties. The LINGO event takes UL back to itís roots, itís core ambition of connecting with language as a way to explore diverse forms of cutting edge music and artistic expression.

At itís core however these events are about having one big party. The cultural focus throws up a scenario where the DJs and performers step out of their usual methods of working and drop music they may not normally play, it ensures there's always super-fresh sounds pumping out of the speakers and as a result the events are totally unique affairs.

The lineup:

The Ya Lingo multi-lingual MC competition is an institution. The first time being done in Sydney, this version has 8 multi-lingual MCs delivering translated raps in 8 languages, entering the competition arena with one ambitionÖ to come out on top. The audience decides who wins 'clap-o-meter' style. Tonnes of fun!

Gypsy Dub Sound System combine the traditions of eastern European Gypsy music, with skankin reggae and dubby electronics. They feature the virtuosity of Bulgarian Violin player Veren Grigorov. Basslines crew do a radio show on FBi each week specialising in deep base sounds with the velvet tones of Chilean Espanol songstress Janny and the foxy reggae singer Gina.

Uber System is a modular performance concept within Uber Lingua and allows for MCs and vocalists to perform next to each other in a seamless DJ mix.

Kaigen is a Japanese MC on tour from Tokyo. Kaigen is a Japanese term meaning 'to open the eye' associated with Buddhist concepts of enlightenment. It lets you know that Kaigen is the type of MC that gets a bit deep

Noozie is also on tour from Milan Italy and rocks it with dub reggae vocals in Italian. Aregradah Black Symbol is a Sydney based Ghanaian MC whoís fronted an African hip hop act for almost a decade, one again with strong reggae leanings, woven with Hip Hop in his mother tongue of Akan.

Kalu Diviya is a trumpet player and vocalist with proud Sri Lankan heritage. He's base din Melbourne yet has performed with Uber Lingua at multiple Sydney Festivals under a different guise. Originally from Brisbane Macro raps in French alongside playing flute, clarinet and melodeon.

Jacqueline Freeman is from Transylvanian parents and sings with power and from the heart. A Sydney girl now living in Melbourne with an active solo career. Adilson Jr from Rio de Janeiro traverses Brasilian baile funk raps alongside being a semi-professional football player (soccer).

Direct from Warsaw, Polish VJs Videokidz are hired guns when it comes to multi-projector video walls and smooth slide optics.
