Expect to travel the globe and experience the world's languages while you dance yer ass off....

Renowed for their weekly events in Sydney and Melbourne, Uber Lingua runs the longest running night at St Jeromes in the back alleys of Melbourne, celebrating diversity and building a network of culturally diverse DJs and other performers in the process.

Uber Lingua DJs at Sydney Laneway Festival : Saunday 4th of March

Sydney's Uber Lingua DJ lineup at the Laneway fest has some of the city's most diverse music selectors mixed with a few MCs, two percussionists and a few imposters from Melbourne!

Mashy P is originally from the UK, and has been connected to the free party movement the whole time. He has a comprehensive collection of trans-lingual bootlegs, mash ups and his own digital concoctions that blow minds. Long time collaborator bP returns to his home town from the Victorian capital to join forces with Mashy with an equally exotic collection of sonics gathered from every nook and cranny he can get into... The two perform a spontaneous free-form sound system oriented wall of sound that in this case will incorporate Flatmax, a Yiddish MC, and Ortiz Pinto from Melbourne on Portuguese Vocals, effected laughter and Brasilian percussion. Ortiz will do a cruisey DJ set also during the day.

Post-Scottish DJ Stu Buchanan is a central member of the Uber Lingua Sydney posse and is the long time host of 'Fat Planet' on radio station FBi. Stu will play his trademark mix of up beat urban-international styles including Baile, Kuduro, Dub-step, Baltimore and Euro-Krunk to name a few...  DJ Sheerien, a fourth-generation Australian Punjabi, recently returned from an extended trip overseas that saw her venture thru China and her motherland India on the way to the UK, where she continued her on going relationship with the highly active UK Asian massive. She's sure to have a solid selection of brand new (and some un-released) tracks...

Ollo are a well known Sydney electronic act and moonlight as Ollo DJs. When they play with Uber their cultural heritage rises to the surface and the Germanic tendencies lead them to play a selection of music not often explored... the 'Neue Deutsche Welle' is basically Germany's answer to new-romantics... quite electro, very raw, a little trashy, lotsa fun... Chaman represents the Sydney alternative Latin scene and is of Argentinean background... A global reggae and dub specialist, he's a member of 7 piece Sydney act 'Social Progression System' who are doing considerable damage at the moment round the traps. The energetic MC Hernan, one of the vocalists in SPS joins his comrade on the Uber Lingua stage at the laneway fest. Panamanian percussionist Mario Gordon flies up from Canberra to join this duo.

Panika is a folk musician by day, a laptop based Aussie-MC by night and an Uber digi-DJ once the clock strikes midnight! Her recent set at the 'St Jeromes Gypsy and Balkan Bash' brought the house down and earned her this spot on the Sydney Laneway stage.

here's what happened in Melbourne...

Uber Lingua DJs at Melbourne Laneway Festival : Saturday 24th of February

Ten selectors make up the Melbourne Uber Lingua DJ lineup... Uber's ring leader bP will drop his signature 'Urban Internationalist' party sounds that move between highly infectious global rogue beats to multi-lingual ghetto tech filled with city attitude... Japanese, Finish, Indian and Ukrainian trax are amongst the selection... sakamoiz mixes up his recent interest in Turkish sounds with his extensive collection of Mexican, African and Swiss-German Dancehall. Melbourne's king of Reggaeton Hot Property explores the genre's macho-Latino aesthetic even further, inspired by his recent trip back to his homeland of Costa Rica, and pickin' up a few gems specificly for the laneway festival.

Raceless delves into his left field hip hop collection, providing his reliable mix of underground US based rap and it's international equivalents from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Mr Fish is from the French territory of Reunion Island (located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar) and has been working with the Uber crew since mid 2006. His Afro-Beat, French Rap and tribal dance sets have been unforgettable. Uber posed a challenge to it's two top Russki DJs... Go back to back! Russian Disco and Vulgar Boatman will play a set of unpredictable Russki tracks that will traverse Gyp-Punk-Criminal-Rock-Pop and so much more... expect to be sent to the Kremlin.

Down from Uber Lingua's Sydney crew is Mashy P... He's renowned for his self produced multi-cultural and indigenous mixes of well known booty tracks... and also has a solid Gypsy, Dub-step and Up-Reggae inspired rhythms to keep a floor rockin... Similarly from Sydney, Stu Buchanan is a Scot now living in Australia, Station manager of radio station FBi and host of that stations cult-global music show 'Fat Planet'... Stu's played killer dancefloor sets since he hit the ground, and delves into everything from rock, electronics, crunk & Baltimore to name a few... Long-time comrade of Uber Lingua, Digital Primate makes a guest appearance during the day with a Live set exposing his recent tracks off the new album 'Siege Mentality'...
