Another LINGO is on the horizon, this time with a latin-asian bent!!! Hot Property from Costa Rica and post-Korean Soju join LINGO regular bP and local planet pusher sakamoiz to generate some killer energy... Uber Lingua dancehall stylee...

in partnership with edge radio 99.3

Hot Property

Originally from Costa Rica, South America, Hot Property began dabbling with sound when performing at the 'Penguin Chill' of Teriakyanarkysaki, a legendary club that led the way for Melbourne to experience hard techno in the early-mid 90's. Using a combination of pre-programmed musical pieces and live-mixed performance, he'd play elaborate and epic live electronic music sets to spun out alternative types... recovering from pounding 909 beats and surreal drug experiences.

The set Hot Property plays 'an intelligent exhibition of eclectic musical genres modified to the occasion..." The set he'll do at LINGO 6 is his self titled 'Matador' set... a 100% Latin Spanglish Reggaeton mix. Reggaeton is the latest ghetto sound that is sweeping across the United States. We wont give too much away, but it will be as he puts it "...more than just a DJ mix..."

He currently holds weekly residencies in Melbourne. At St Jeromes, The Lounge and Ail Bar.

bP returns to Hobart for his fifth LINGO event, well tuned into the room and the Hobartians that come down for a groove and always thinking back to those previous sets for inspiration. His recent sonic wanderings come as a result of his trips to Beijing and Montreal in mid-late 05. From these he's gathered a solid selection of killer Asian tracks, much modern Franco-phone music... bP's fairly obsessed with very modern evolutions in sound... expect to hear an evolution of the tangent he started taking at the turn of the century.

Soju

Recently returned from South Korea, Soju makes a visit to LINGO 6

South Korea became a source for inspiration in Soju's eclectic music, performance video works and DJ sets in 2001 when he started collecting traditional forms known as 'sal manori' and 'sinawe', rare recordings of ancient songs sung by Korea's last living Geisha. He's also gathered a selection of glam rock, manic hip hop, pencil-head electro-acoustic works and more recently, psychedelic minimalism.

Soju has performed and recorded recently with Korea's new school of grassroots sound artists & performers, including makers of electronic devices that respond to electro-magnetic energy!

sakamoiz is a post-Swiss pseudo-Mexican Tasmania-based rogue, and his nomadic lifestyle benefits one of the planet's most sonically eclectic and linguistically diverse music collections.  Host of the 8 to 10pm Saturday night slot 'Dialect-ic' on Hobart's Edge Radio, Sakamoiz'z selections are spiced with Latin, Arabic, African and Aboriginal grooves have been the flavour of his sets featuring everything from coin-swinging to glitch-reggae.

AND LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS!!!

Mexico-obsessed Hobartian DJ Salsero, who has just returned from several weeks in Mexico City checking out the latest sounds and live acts the city of 25 million has to offer.  Joining DJ Salsero is Peruvian-born Simi, who is a House specialist but for LINGO is digging up his roots.
